Independent Living Skills Trainer Journey To Thrive ILS Concord, CA 94522 $21.60 an hour - Part-time $21.60 an hour - Part-time ILS Instructor — Make a Real Difference, Every Day Journey To Thrive Independent Living Services (JTT ILS) Part-Time | Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-7:30 PM | $18-$19/hour About the Role Journey To Thrive ILS is looking for a motivated, reliable ILS Instructor to join our team supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they build the skills they need to live independently and confidently. This isn't a desk job. You'll be out in the community, one-on-one with individuals, teaching real-life skills using modern tools, hands-on practice, and teaching methods tailored to how each person learns best — visual, auditory, or hands-on. What You'll Be Doing Implementing individualized ILS curriculum and program goals Delivering one-on-one and group learning sessions to help individuals reach their IPP (Individual Program Plan) objectives Teaching practical life skills — cooking, budgeting, transportation, self-advocacy, safety, and more Tracking and documenting individual progress accurately and consistently Participating in assessments, planning meetings, and evaluations for the individuals you support Completing daily session notes/charting before clocking out each shift Completing 12 hours of in-service training annually What You Need to Bring High school diploma or GED At least 1 year of experience working with children or adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently and stay organized in the field Current First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain before start) Valid California driver's license, clean driving record, current auto insurance Reliable vehicle registered in your name (mileage reimbursed) Availability Monday-Friday within the 9:00 AM-7:30 PM window Why JTT ILS Meaningful, hands-on work that directly changes lives Consistent weekday schedule — no nights, no weekends Supportive team environment with real training and growth opportunities Be part of a growing agency built on compliance, quality, and genuine care Journey To Thrive ILS is a vendored Independent Living Skills provider through a California Regional Center, committed to helping individuals with developmental disabilities gain the confidence and skills to live life on their own terms.
