Job Description
The Electronic Health Record (EHR) Trainer Specialist is the subject matter expert responsible for testing, maintenance, and ongoing training support of software applications, including EHR, required to support the health center's patient care goals and administrative functions. The EHR Training Specialist will be an active participant in the Information Technology team and continually consult with users by providing support and training and to ensure optimal systems utilization including best practices, workflow optimization, accurate coding, timely closing of electronic charts and more. Reports to : Information Systems (IS)

Non-exempt, Hourly Essential Responsibilities:
- Serves as main point of contact and application subject matter expert for all staff who utilize the EHR and other systems.
- Analyzes and documents the requirements of the Health Center and clinical workflow as they pertain to the optimization of the EHR software.
- Prepares recommendations and/or alternatives that address existing and potential areas of improvement in CLCHC clinical operations.
- Creates, utilizes and implements customized training curriculum to train and instruct staff on the use the features of the software effectively.
- Documents improvement decisions and configuration approach.
- Supports staff in the use of the software and prioritizes issues.
- Resolves issues by utilizing training and provided documentation. Follow established escalation and notification procedures.
- Provides regular status updates to direct supervisor for all assigned tasks.
- Provides accurate, up-to-date, and complete information about patients at the point of care. Enables quick access to patient records for more coordinated, efficient care.
- Conducts needs assessment, troubleshoot issues and recommends specific solutions such as installation of alternate methods and procedures, changes in processing methods and practices, or redesign of processes and workflow
- Provides ongoing application phone support for staff, troubleshooting and closing helpdesk tickets.
- Displays an exceptionally high level of attention to detail and consultative service skills.
- Troubleshoots practice management (billing, scheduling, claims, and clinical health record) application issues.
- Completes activities associated with system updates, upgrades, and conversions.
- Be familiar with FQHC data requirements.
- Develops and executes test plans as directed.
- Performs security maintenance as directed.
- Exercises sound judgment in maintaining confidential matters with regards to patients, staff and sensitive management issues.
- Works closely with all IT and Data staff to ensure CLCHC technology needs are met.
- Travels to multiple locations to support EHR system and related needs and provide training.
- Performs other duties as assigned. Non-essential Responsibilities
- Deploys IT change control process and ensure users are educated on all changes.
- Performs other IT duties as a member of the Information Technology department. Minimum Requirements
- 2+ years of professional experience working in a healthcare environment.
- Experience with Allscripts system highly desirable
- 2+ years of professional experience interacting with a physician's office, supporting EHR software, and issuing resolution.
- Experience in FQHC requirements helpful.
- Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, information systems or area of expertise.
- Strong documentation skills with the ability to document physician practice workflow and recommend changes.
- Strong communications and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and training skills with all levels of staff.
- MS Office skills that include, Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Project
- Maintain a current, valid California Driver's License and maintain reliable transportation with CA minimum auto insurance.
Pay:
