We're looking for compassionate and reliable Independent Living Skills Trainers (ILST) to join our Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) team in Hartford, CT. You'll work one-on-one with individuals, helping them rebuild life skills, gain confidence, and live more independently — all while being part of a mission-driven nonprofit that truly values its team.
What You'll Do:
As an ILST, you'll: Support individuals in developing independent living skills such as daily routines, budgeting, cooking, and communication. Provide non-medical care, supervision, and socialization based on each client's personalized service plan. Encourage, guide, and celebrate progress — big and small! Be a positive, steady presence as your clients build stronger, more fulfilling lives.
What You'll Need:
Be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred but not required). Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and good driving record. Verifiable Experience with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI): 2 years with a high school diploma or equivalent, OR 1 year with a bachelor's degree.
