Overview In coordination with and under the supervision of the AD, Workplace Excellence and Administration, the Training and Development Specialist is responsible for developing and delivering staff training and development programs for Facilities staff. The role will assess training needs to design, develop, and deliver training and development programs and tools across Facilities Operations. This is a highly visible position that will partner with Yale University's HR department, Facilities managers, and subject matter experts to deliver training and learning programs across various job levels and groups within the department. This position will have a dotted-line reporting relationship with the Director of Facilities Operations and is expected to be predominantly on-site. Required Skills and Abilities 1. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships and provide excellent customer service. 2. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. 3. Project Management skills - tracking, monitoring, and reporting on progress of training-related events and activities. 4. Well-developed organizational, analytical, oral, and written communication skills and the ability to process multiple projects, set priorities, and work independently to meet objectives. Ability to establish priorities and follow through on projects, paying close attention to detail with minimal supervision. 5. Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to work with people at all levels of the University. 6. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines and work with minimal supervision. Preferred Skills and Abilities 1. Training program design and implementation experience 2. Experience with learning management systems Principal Responsibilities 1. Design, develop, and deliver training programs and tools utilizing internal, university-wide, and external resources. This includes structured courses and training series, on-the-job need-based training, training manuals, and multimedia visual aids. 2. In partnership with unit subject matter experts and leaders, conducts need assessments to identify gaps in current training programs as they relate to competencies for key positions. 3. Manages, monitors, and evaluates training programs. 4. Develops and maintains reporting to demonstrate compliance and effectiveness of training programs. 5. Collaborates with other learning and development representatives at Yale to ensure compliance with mandatory and required training and promote awareness and adoption of university learning tools, platforms and resources. 6. Develops and maintains partnerships with internal stakeholders, internal resources, and industry partners for training programs and resources. 7. Collaborates with management and the administrative support team to implement and coordinate training logistics. 8. Performs other duties as assigned.
