Job Description

Tallahassee State College is thrilled to announce a full-time grant-funded opening for the position of Career Development Specialist with DOC - Okaloosa Correctional Institution. Career Development Specialists will facilitate instruction of the Compass 180 program, which refers to the Department's comprehensive 100-Hour Transition Skills Education program that covers career exploration and identification, job readiness, and life management skills for inmates. The services to be provided include, but are not limited to: Delivery of the 100-Hour Transition Skills Program curriculum Conducting the Compass 180 and Compass 180 Update programs with the designated curriculum and resources provided Ensuring the development and completion of a Readiness Portfolio by each student Entering the Readiness Portfolio in the proprietary database Ensuring that all class sessions are documented, and inmate attendance and status accurately captured on the DC5-149 Providing information pertaining to pre-release connections of community providers and employers for inmate release planning services to facility release officer's Assisting the Pre-Release Employment Navigators with hiring events, mock interviews, pre-release job search, recruitment, and readiness portfolio development through face-to-face and technology-based interactions. Career Development Specialist Qualifications:
An Associate degree from an accredited college or university and one year of related work experience or a high school diploma and two (2) years of professional experience in the workforce development, social services, corrections or related field Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry Effective written and oral communication skills Valid Florida Driver's License What We Offer We offer more than just a competitive salary of $41,200.00 annually.
