Job Description
Job Summary Join our vibrant team as a After-School Program Staff member at JTTC In this energetic role, you will create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children during before and after-school hours. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help foster positive youth development, support children's social and emotional growth, and ensure their safety through effective supervision and activity facilitation. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in young lives while developing your skills in education, childcare, and youth programming. Responsibilities Supervise children during before and after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times Plan, organize, and facilitate engaging youth activities, including games, arts and crafts, sports, and educational projects Manage behavior using positive reinforcement techniques and effective behavior management strategies Maintain a safe environment by adhering to first aid protocols, CPR procedures, AED operation, and emergency response guidelines Support children with homework assistance or tutoring as needed to promote academic success Collaborate with team members to coordinate outdoor activities, camp-style experiences, or special events that enhance youth engagement Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's progress or concerns while maintaining confidentiality Qualifications Prior experience working with children in educational settings, daycare environments, or youth programs is highly preferred Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices Certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and familiarity with first aid protocols (certifications must be current) Strong classroom management skills and the ability to handle behavioral challenges effectively Experience facilitating youth group activities or sports coaching is a plus Ability to work outdoors comfortably during recreational activities or outdoor work experiences Excellent child supervision skills combined with patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude Background in special education or experience working with children with diverse needs is advantageous Join us in creating a fun-filled, safe space where children can learn, grow, and thrive!
