Job Overview Join our vibrant team as an After School Youth Development Professional, where your passion for working with children and youth will inspire growth, learning, and fun! In this dynamic role, you will lead engaging activities, foster positive behavior, and create a safe, nurturing environment for young minds after school hours. Your energy and dedication will help shape confident, responsible, and enthusiastic youth while supporting their social and emotional development. Duties Facilitate a variety of youth group activities, including arts and crafts, sports, theater, outdoor adventures, and educational games to promote teamwork and personal growth Maintain a safe environment by supervising children at all times, ensuring proper behavior management and implementing positive discipline strategies Manage classroom routines and transitions smoothly using effective classroom management techniques Provide first aid and respond appropriately to emergencies following established protocols, including CPR and AED operation when necessary Support children with special needs by adapting activities to accommodate individual requirements and collaborating with specialists when applicable Lead outdoor work activities such as field trips or nature explorations while ensuring safety procedures are followed Foster a welcoming atmosphere that encourages participation, creativity, and respect among all children and youth participants Qualifications Proven experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management strategies Certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and familiarity with first aid protocols (or willingness to obtain upon hire) Experience with special education or working with children with diverse needs is highly desirable Excellent child supervision skills combined with the ability to lead youth group activities confidently Background in theater arts or outdoor work experience is a plus for engaging activity facilitation Demonstrated team leadership abilities along with effective communication skills Prior daycare experience or babysitting background preferred; experience in youth development programs highly valued Join us in creating an inspiring environment where children can thrive! Pay:
$15.00 - $17.00 per hour
