Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Training Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and advancing organization-wide training and professional development initiatives that strengthen employee performance, support operational needs, and ensure compliance with organizational, legal, grant, and BGCA requirements. This position assesses training needs; develops, coordinates, and facilitates learning opportunities; evaluates training effectiveness; maintains accurate training records; and partners with leaders to support employee onboarding, coaching, and continued professional growth.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Assess organization-wide training and professional development needs through collaboration with the Chief Culture Officer, employees, supervisors, and organizational leadership, and develop appropriate learning, coaching, and performance-support solutions. 2. Develop and implement annual and ongoing training plans aligned with organizational priorities, employee development needs, compliance requirements, and evolving best practices. 3. Design, coordinate, and facilitate engaging training programs, including new-hire training, on[1]the-job training, refresher courses, leadership development, and other specialized learning opportunities. 4. Lead and facilitate new-hire orientation and coordinate with the Talent Acquisition Director to ensure employees receive consistent and comprehensive information regarding the organization's mission, culture, policies, expectations, and required training. 5. Manage all aspects of training implementation, including scheduling, logistics, room setup, participant communications, attendance tracking, materials, technology, and coordination with internal facilitators, external trainers, and community partners. 6. Develop and maintain effective training materials, including presentations, facilitator guides, instructional resources, demonstrations, and computer-based learning content. 7. Conduct 60-day check-ins with new employees, document feedback, and provide appropriate leaders with timely updates regarding onboarding progress, concerns, and identified development needs. 8. Conduct regular Club observations and coaching sessions and collaborate with leaders to develop and implement professional development strategies based on identified strengths and opportunities. 9. Develop clear training and onboarding plans for employees who are promoted, transferred, or transitioning into new roles. 10. Develop evaluation tools, administer post-training surveys and assessments, and use participation and feedback data to measure effectiveness and continuously improve training initiatives. 11. Collaborate with the Human Resources team and organizational leaders to support succession planning, respond to employee and department feedback, and identify learning opportunities that prepare employees for continued growth and expanded responsibilities. 12. Research and introduce relevant, innovative, and engaging training approaches that support the organization's continued growth and changing workforce needs. 13. Plan and coordinate organization-wide learning and employee engagement initiatives, including All Staff meetings, Courageous Conversations, Wellness Wednesdays, and other programs assigned by the Chief Culture Officer. 14. Coordinate the monthly Core Value Award process by partnering with organizational leaders to solicit and review nominations, preparing the recognition announcement for each recipient, and maintaining an accurate record of monthly award recipients. 15. Complete required BGCA training and obtain and maintain the certifications or facilitator status necessary to deliver designated programs. Obtain additional training certifications as requested by the Chief Culture Officer to expand the organization's internal training capacity. 16. Monitor the certification and compliance status of employees serving as internal trainers, including training completion, renewals, continuing education, and other facilitator requirements. 17. Coordinate CPR and First Aid training in partnership with internal instructors, including scheduling regular sessions, monitoring employee certification status, and communicating initial and renewal requirements. 18. Monitor and ensure timely completion of training requirements established by BGCA, including Youth Development Professional training requirements, as well as applicable grants, contracts, laws, and organizational policies. Communicate regularly with employees and supervisors regarding required attendance, incomplete training, deadlines, and renewals. 19. Maintain accurate, current, and audit-ready records of employee training, certifications, educational credentials, and professional development activities within Paycom and other designated tracking systems. 20. Prepare accurate and timely training schedules, monthly tracking spreadsheets, compliance documentation, and reports required by organizational leadership, DJJ, funders, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders. Assist with internal and external audits, assessments, and compliance reviews. 21. Provide the Human Resources Generalist with relevant new-hire, training, and professional development updates for inclusion in the organization's monthly employee newsletter and other internal communications. 22. Respond promptly and professionally to training-related questions and requests from Club and administrative staff. 23. Perform other administrative duties necessary to support the effective operation of the organization's training and professional development function. 24. Provide planning, coordination, and on-site support for organizational events, including but not limited to the Annual Benefit and Youth of the Year. 25. Perform other duties as assigned.RELATIONSHIPS
Internal:
Maintain regular communication and collaboration with the Chief Culture Officer, Human Resources team, organizational leadership, supervisors, employees, volunteers, and internal trainers to coordinate training initiatives, share information, and address professional development needs.External:
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with external trainers, consultants, community partners, schools, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders to coordinate training opportunities, resources, and compliance requirements.SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED 1.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. 2. Minimum of five years of experience developing, coordinating, facilitating, and evaluating employee training and professional development programs. 3. Strong facilitation, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences. 4. Strong organizational and project-management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, schedules, deadlines, and compliance requirements. 5. Ability to assess training needs, develop effective learning solutions, provide constructive feedback, and collaborate successfully with employees and leadership. 6. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, human resources information systems, learning platforms, and virtual training technology. 7. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate, confidential, and audit-ready training records. 8. Experience working with children and youth and an understanding of appropriate youth development and safety practices. 9. Ability to obtain and maintain required organizational, BGCA, and facilitator certifications. 10. CPR and First Aid Certifications (or obtain within the first three months of employment).
