Life Skills Trainer in Residential Settings Visions of Hope for Boys Decatur, GA Job Details Part-time | Full-time $16.00 - $18.26 an hour 2 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Qualifications CPR Certification Assisting with ADLs First Aid Certification Meal preparation Meal assistance Full Job Description Under general supervision, monitors residents (consumers/students) in a residential home life environment or in a 24 hour/7day inpatient facility. Observes, documents and reports resident behavior/progress on an ongoing basis. Trains and assists residents in basic daily living skills. Maintains a clean, healthy and safe environment. May serve as supervisor to other residential staff.
Responsibilities of Measure:
1. Experience in group care settings working with youth who may have Trauma related behaviors. 2. Monitors general resident activities to observe and report behavior/progress when necessary, intervenes in problem situation. 3. Knowledge of training residents in daily living skills in one - on-one or group instructions as assigned. 4. Maintains a clean, healthy and safe home environment for residents. 5. Ability to perform meal preparation and maintain a clean living environment 6.. Monitors and make sure that residents are wearing appropriate, clean, weather-related clothing. 7. Maintains accurate records. 8. Maintains a consistent, high quality, resident-focused orientation when conducting business and providing services to residents, the public and other external customers. Serves as positive role model for residents. 10. Provides transportation for residents to appointments and activities. 11. Create and maintain a high-performance environment characterized by positive leadership and organized team orientation. 12. Assists staff with resident admission procedures and orients residents to facility, rules and regulations and expectations of program. 13. Performs community integration functions. 14. Under close supervision, may assist in performing a variety of other duties when assigned. 15. Willing to or have obtained CPR/ First Aide Certification.
