Job Description

What You'll Do:
As our Training Specialist , you'll play a vital role in ensuring our team members are prepared, supported, and continuously growing. This role is both instructional and strategic, combining hands-on training with the development of engaging training programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead training sessions on topics like new staff orientation, annual safety, and service-specific instruction. Develop training materials including manuals, online courses, PowerPoints, and assessments. Maintain and manage our Learning Management System (LMS); support users and troubleshoot issues. Schedule and track all employee training, maintaining accurate records. Coordinate CPR certification sessions and other external training opportunities. Supervise and support Staff Trainers and Instructors, ensuring training excellence. Assist in identifying training needs across departments and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations. Support other departmental functions including audits, investigations, and quality assurance initiatives
What We're Looking For:
Additional knowledge, skills, and abilities not listed above: Knowledge of ICF/IDD regulations, HCBS, Brain Injury and Habilitation regulations, active treatment, and person-centered planning. Strong presentation, communication, and facilitation skills. Ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Learning Management Systems (LMS). Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Commitment to promoting dignity, respect, and independence for individuals with disabilities. Ability to interpret, organize, and convey information clearly. Knowledge of the needs and services of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Special Requirements Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record and insurability under New Hope's insurance policy. Reliable transportation for agency business. Flexibility to adjust schedule as needed, including evenings and weekends.
Certifications:
Must maintain certification as a CPR/First Aid Instructor or obtain within 6 months of hire. Must obtain training certificate as a Safety Cares Instructor within 6 months of hire. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds during skills demonstrations or emergency drills. Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to observe and evaluate staff performance. Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience Associates Degree and 3 years of relevant experience preferred. Bachelor's Degree and 1 years of relevant experience preferred.
