Class Trainer - Part-Time K9 Tailshakers, Inc. Part-Time | Approximately 2-15 Hours Per Week Weeknight & Weekend Classes Potential for Growth K9 Tailshakers is seeking an experienced, personable, and highly professional Class Trainer to join our training team. We are looking for someone who can step into our established class program and successfully continue our current curriculum, while also bringing the motivation, creativity, and experience to help further develop our class system, introduce new workshops, expand class offerings, and grow this area of our training department. This is a great opportunity for a motivated trainer who enjoys teaching group classes but also wants the opportunity to contribute ideas and help build something. As our class and workshop offerings grow, there is potential for the right person to grow with the position. Responsibilities The Class Trainer will lead a variety of group classes and workshops, which may include: Puppy Classes Beginner Obedience Intermediate Obedience Public Etiquette Classes Specialty Workshops Additional group training programs developed through K9 Tailshakers The Class Trainer will also have the opportunity to work with our team to: Continue developing and improving our existing class curriculum Develop new classes, workshops, and specialty programs Identify opportunities for additional client education and training offerings Help build a strong, organized, and successful group-class program Create or update supporting class materials and client handouts as needed Class schedules are primarily weeknights and weekends , with approximately 2-15 hours per week initially , depending on class enrollment, scheduling, and administrative time. There is potential for additional hours and growth as programming expands. Training Experience Previous experience teaching group dog-training classes and workshops is required . Candidates must have experience with and a clear understanding of balanced dog training , while also understanding different training methods and being able to tailor instruction to the individual dog, handler, and situation. Established class curricula are already in place, so the right trainer will not be starting from scratch. At the same time, we welcome the experience and creativity of someone interested in helping us continue developing and expanding our class system . Adjustments and new programming should remain consistent with the K9 Tailshakers training philosophy, balanced-training approach, and overall standards. Communication & Client Relationships Outstanding communication skills are essential for this position. We are looking for a trainer who: Builds strong relationships and rapport with clients and their dogs Is comfortable teaching and speaking in front of groups Can clearly explain training techniques and concepts to clients with different levels of experience Provides professional, supportive, and constructive feedback Communicates effectively with other members of the K9 Tailshakers training and management teams Is dependable, organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently Is excited about helping grow and improve our class and workshop offerings Computer & Administrative Skills Candidates should be comfortable with: Email communication Microsoft Word or similar programs Creating and updating documents and handouts Basic computer and administrative tasks related to classes What K9 Tailshakers Provides K9 Tailshakers handles the business and administrative side of the class program, allowing the trainer to focus primarily on training, teaching, program development, and client relationships . Tailshakers:
Markets and promotes classes Handles client onboarding and registration Schedules classes and clients Provides the training facility and equipment Provides applicable business and liability insurance Vets and schedules clients through our office Provides a company iPhone and company email for all client-related communication This is an employee position with K9 Tailshakers, not a 1099 independent-contractor position . Professional Expectations The ideal candidate will be comfortable both working independently and functioning as part of the larger K9 Tailshakers team . Because our company invests heavily in marketing, client acquisition, established programming, and long-term client relationships, this position requires signing appropriate confidentiality agreements. We are looking for a stellar trainer who genuinely enjoys teaching people as much as training dogs, someone who can successfully carry forward what we have already built while bringing the motivation and ideas to help us take our class and workshop programming even further. Pay:
$18.00 - $100.00 per hour
