Job Summary:
The Youth Development Professional supports the delivery of safe, engaging youth programs by providing direct supervision, positive role modeling, and program assistance. This role focuses on member safety, behavior support, and care of the program environment while building positive relationships with youth and supporting lead staff in daily activities. Hours & Schedule Part-time, 8.25 hours per week Tuesday through Thursday 3:15pm-6pm
Duties & Responsibilities:
Member Safety & Supervision Actively supervise youth to ensure their safety at all times. Support consistent application of behavioral expectations. Monitor program spaces and report safety concerns or incidents promptly. Follow all supervision, safety, and emergency procedures. Program Support Assist Lead Youth Development Professionals and Program Supervisors with program activities. Support setup, facilitation, and cleanup of daily programs and activities. Engage youth in activities as directed to support participation and enjoyment. Follow established schedules, routines, and program plans set by Program Supervisor and lead YDPs. Behavior Support & Role Modeling Model respectful, responsible, and positive behavior at all times. Support youth using developmentally appropriate guidance and redirection. Encourage inclusion, cooperation, and positive peer interactions. Reinforce character, ethics, and Club values through daily interactions. Environment Care Help maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free program spaces. Support proper use, storage, and care of equipment and supplies. Assist with transitions between activities and program areas. Ensure program areas are left ready for the next activity or group.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required. Must be at least 18 years old. Bilingual Preferred Demonstrated ability to work with school-age youth (ages 5-18). Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to follow direction and work as part of a team. Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn. Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 20 lbs and extended periods of standing or sitting.
