Job Description
Training and Development Specialist Responsibilities:
The Training and Development Specialist is responsible for updating training content across various media and utilizing new technology to enhance the employee training experience. The Training and Development Specialist will organize and maintain the training programs, with a special focus on updating content, SOPs and training materials. The Training and Development Specialist will report directly to the Training and Development Program Manager. Training and Development Specialist duties will include, but are not limited to:
Update existing training materials, including manuals, guides, checklists and multimedia contentDevelop clear, concise SOPs for various processes (customer service, sales inventory management) ensuring they are accessible and understandableCollaborate with subject matter experts and business managers to ensure the accuracy and relevance of contentRegularly review and revise training materials and SOPs to reflect changes in company polices, industry standards and compliance regulationsWork closely with retail and restaurant trainers to ensure they are equipped with up to date training content and provide guidance on delivering training in alignment with company goalsMonitor training sessions for consistency and effectiveness, provide feedback to trainers when necessaryMaintain accurate records of training completion and employee progress, ensuring all employees are up to date with required trainingGenerate reports on training effectiveness, compliance with SOPs and areas of improvementWork closely with managers to identify areas where SOPs or training materials need to be developed or updatedCollect feedback from employees and trainers to continually improve training materials and methodsStay informed on industry trends and best practices in content development and retail operations to enhance training content and
SOPs Experience/Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Learning and Development or CommunicationsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsEspecially strong organizational skills; detail orientedComputer and internet proficiency including Microsoft office (Outlook, Excel, Word and Adobe Creative apps)Ability to translate technical information to non-technical users
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of and experience in HRIS systemsInstructional experience in a group business settingRetail and restaurant experience
Hours:
The Training and Development Specialist is a full time position and works a minimum of 40 hours per week
Salary/Income:
The Training and Development Specialist is an exempt, salaried position
