Job Description
Life Skills Trainer DSP Work hours are from 4:00 p.m. to Midnight Monday through Friday and 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. This is a 7-day on 7-day off position. Staring hourly wage is $15.00 per hour. This full-time position provides insurance benefits, sick leave, vacation, and holiday pay. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Providing assistance to individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities in the community living program. Assists with planning and participation in community activities. Menu planning, purchasing groceries/household supplies, and completion of required documentation. Assist individuals in identifying and exercising choice and preferences. Assist individuals with budgeting and money management. Adhere to money management policies and procedures. Medication administration, adhering to medication policies and procedures. Follow individual plans, collect and report data. Participate in inservice training. Obtain/maintain Mandt, CPR/First Aid certification. Attend mandatory monthly community living staff meetings. Adhere to attendance requirements of the agency. May be required to drive a passenger van. May be required to lift more than ten pounds at any time, excessive standing, sitting, or walking may be necessary on a regular basis.
Qualifications :
High School graduate or GED is required. Experience in working with the handicapped is preferred. CRC, MVR, ANE, KDHE, SOR and Medicaid fraud checks are completed on all employees. Drug testing will be done pre-employment and randomly. A KDOT physical may be required for some positions. Interested individuals may apply via the website at www.twinriversdevelopmental.com.
