Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Youth Development Professional to inspire and empower young minds through engaging educational and recreational activities. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to foster youth growth, facilitate positive experiences, and promote community involvement during the summer months. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, leadership skills, and a passion for working with children and adolescents, creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for all participants. Duties Lead and supervise youth activities, including sports, arts, outdoor adventures, and team-building exercises, ensuring a fun and safe environment. Implement age-appropriate curriculum and programs that support childhood development, social skills, and personal growth. Manage classroom or activity space effectively through classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies. Ensure safety protocols are followed by maintaining first aid readiness, including CPR and AED operation, and adhering to first aid protocols at all times. Foster positive relationships with youth participants by providing mentorship, guidance, and support tailored to their individual needs. Collaborate with team members to plan daily schedules, coordinate special events, and adapt activities for children with special education needs or other accommodations. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding participant progress or concerns while maintaining confidentiality. Qualifications Prior experience working with children in educational, recreational, or childcare settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles, early childhood education practices, and behavior management techniques. Certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and familiarity with first aid protocols required; ongoing training provided if necessary. Demonstrated ability to manage classrooms or activity groups effectively using classroom management skills. Experience facilitating youth group activities or camp programs is advantageous. Strong team leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide both children and fellow staff members. Excellent communication skills to engage children positively while maintaining safety standards. Outdoor work experience is beneficial for leading outdoor activities confidently in various weather conditions. Additional experience such as sports coaching, theater arts, tutoring, Christian counseling or babysitting can enhance your ability to connect with diverse youth populations.
