LOCATION:
TBD The purpose of the Classroom Management Professional Development Team is to strengthen support for teachers in their first three years of teaching by developing and delivering professional learning focused on effective classroom management practices. Team members will collaborate to create a practical, research-based toolkit that equips early-career PK-5 educators who teach the general education curriculum with strategies for establishing clear expectations, teaching routines, maximizing instructional time, and fostering positive learning environments.
QUALIFICATIONS
Team will consist of 20 classroom teachers and/or administrators with:
- Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience
- Demonstrated excellence in classroom management
- Ability to create positive, engaging, and well-managed learning environments
- Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and serve as a teacher leader
- Commitment to supporting early-career educators
- Must be employed by the district as of July 1, 2026 DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in a six-hour summer workshop to develop a classroom management toolkit for developing educators (August 12, 2026: 9:00-3:00)
- Work collaboratively with team members to create professional development materials and resources related to: oEstablishing and teaching behavioral expectations oEffective classroom routines and procedures oPositive classroom culture and relationship-building oConsistent responses to student behavior
- Work as a member of a team to deliver a 2-3 hour professional development session for teachers in their first three years of teaching during one of the district's opening days.
COMPENSATION
Participants will receive a $500 stipend for:
- Participation in a six-hour summer workshop
- Up to two hours of independent work
- Delivery of a 2-3 hour new teacher professional development session during one of the district's opening days
