full-time Zip Zap IT Solutions is seeking an experienced Document Remediation & Training Specialist to support a Federal Section 508 accessibility program. This is a Key Personnel position supporting electronic document accessibility, remediation, training, and technical assistance.
Responsibilities The successful candidate will:
Evaluate electronic documents and forms for Section 508 compliance Remediate inaccessible electronic documents and forms Perform remediation of Microsoft Office documents Perform remediation of Adobe PDF documents Apply Federal Section 508 document testing methods Use the Accessibility Tests for Documents endorsed by the Federal CIO Council Community of Practice Identify accessibility barriers and recommend remediation approaches Perform accessibility quality assurance Provide technical assistance to Government personnel and stakeholders Conduct instructor-led accessibility/document remediation training Provide one-on-one and classroom technical instruction Support remote and, when requested, other training delivery Assist with making multimedia content accessible when requested Prepare documentation and guidance related to accessibility remediation The SOW specifically requires document remediation for Microsoft Office and Adobe materials and instructor-led training/technical assistance. Required Qualifications Demonstrated knowledge of Accessibility Tests for Documents endorsed by the Federal CIO Council Community of Practice At least 2 years of experience evaluating and remediating electronic documents and forms for Section 508 compliance Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office accessibility/remediation Demonstrated experience with Adobe PDF accessibility/remediation Ability to provide verbal and written instruction on evaluating and remediating accessible electronic documents and forms Preferred Qualifications Federal Government Section 508 experience DHS experience Experience developing and delivering accessibility training Experience providing one-on-one accessibility technical assistance Experience with Adobe Acrobat Pro accessibility tools Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint accessibility Experience performing accessibility quality assurance Experience with PDF tagging, reading order, document structure, tables, forms, links, and other common PDF accessibility remediation activities Experience with accessible electronic forms Experience supporting Section 508 programs or accessibility centers of excellence Work Arrangement Remote / Federal contract support This is a Key Personnel position supporting a Federal Government contract and requires the selected candidate to maintain continuity throughout contract performance.
