Job Description

The Technology Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality technical training that prepares participants for careers in information technology and related fields. Using a person-centered and accessible instructional approach, the Technology Instructor facilitates classroom, virtual, and hybrid learning experiences designed to build technical competencies, industry-recognized credentials, and workforce readiness. The Technology Instructor develops and delivers curriculum aligned with industry demand, supports participants in achieving certification goals, and provides individualized coaching to promote successful training completion and employment outcomes. Working collaboratively with the Professional Development Instructor and Job Development Specialist, this position ensures participants are prepared to transition successfully into competitive integrated employment within the technology sector. The Technology Instructor maintains current knowledge of emerging technologies, labor market trends, certification pathways, and instructional best practices while fostering an engaging and inclusive learning environment that supports diverse learning styles and abilities.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Instruction & Curriculum Delivery Deliver instructor-led technical training in information technology, digital literacy, cybersecurity, cloud computing, networking, hardware and software support, and other approved technology pathways. Facilitate instruction in classroom, virtual, and hybrid learning environments. Based on the established abil IT , develop supplemental lesson plans, instructional materials, presentations, assessments, and hands-on learning activities aligned with program objectives. Prepare participants for industry-recognized IT certifications. Adapt instructional materials and delivery methods to accommodate diverse learning needs and abilities. Ensure technical curriculum remains aligned with employer needs and labor market demand. Participant Support & Success Assess participant skill levels and identify individualized learning supports. Monitor participant progress and provide academic coaching and technical mentorship. Assist participants in developing study plans and certification preparation strategies. Identify barriers to learning and collaborate with program staff to develop solutions. Foster a positive learning environment that promotes confidence, independence, and professional growth. Encourage participant engagement through project-based learning and hands-on activities. Program Administration & Documentation Maintain accurate attendance records, assessments, progress notes, and outcome documentation. Enter required participant information into the data tracking system. Monitor credential attainment and training completion outcomes. Assist with program reporting and data collection activities. Industry Engagement & Continuous Improvement Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies, certification standards, and workforce trends. Participate in curriculum review and improvement activities. Develop relationships with employers, industry partners, and technology professionals. Support employer presentations, guest speakers, and career exploration opportunities. Participate in professional development and continuing education activities. Collaboration & Teamwork Work closely with Professional Development Instructor to integrate workplace readiness skills into technical training. Collaborate with Job Development Specialist to align participant skills with employment opportunities. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case reviews. Support recruitment, outreach, and participant engagement activities. Additional Responsibilities Maintain confidentiality of participant, employer, and organizational information. Adhere to Humanim policies, procedures, and ethical standards. Participate in organizational committees, meetings, and special projects. Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Education, or a related field required. Relevant industry certifications may substitute educational requirements.
Preferred certifications:
CompTIA A+ , CompTIA Network+ , CompTIA Security+, and/or Microsoft Fundamentals Certifications. Minimum three (3) years of experience working in information technology, technical support, cybersecurity, networking, systems administration, software support, or related technology fields preferred. Minimum one (1) year of instructional, training, mentoring, coaching, or facilitation experience preferred. Experience delivering technical training in classroom, virtual, or hybrid environments preferred. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or diverse learning populations preferred. Experience preparing individuals for industry-recognized certifications preferred.
