Non-exempt Position Description Do you love technology, creativity, problem-solving, gaming, and helping young people discover what they're capable of? As a STEM & Esports Youth Development Professional, you'll engage youth ages 7-17 through hands-on experiences in a variety of topics such as science, technology, engineering, robotics, esports, and digital learning. You'll help members develop problem-solving, teamwork, communication, and leadership skills while building confidence and discovering new interests. From robotics and engineering challenges to coding, STEM projects, and esports competitions, you'll create fun, interactive opportunities for youth to learn by doing. If you're passionate about STEM, technology, esports, and empowering young people, we'd love to have you on our team.
Essential Job Duties:
Inspire Youth Through STEM & Technology Create a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging environment for youth. Build positive relationships while serving as a mentor and role model. Encourage curiosity, creativity, problem-solving, teamwork, and leadership. Promote good sportsmanship, communication, and responsible technology use. Celebrate individual and team accomplishments. Program Development & Implementation Plan and lead STEM, technology, and esports activities for youth ages 7-17. Develop hands-on projects, challenges, experiments, and games. Lead or support STEM programs, competitions, and esports tournaments. Provide homework assistance and academic support as needed. Implement summer STEM and esports enrichment activities. Adapt activities to meet different ages, interests, and skill levels. Introduce youth to STEM-related careers, educational opportunities, and emerging technologies. Maintain accurate attendance and program documentation. Keep program spaces and equipment clean, organized, and ready for use. Identify opportunities for partnerships, competitions, guest speakers, and community engagement. Additional Responsibilities Participate in Club-wide events, family activities, field trips, competitions, and special programs. May chaperone and transport youth in a Club vehicle. Assist in other program areas as needed. Help maintain the cleanliness and organization of the Club facility and grounds. Promptly report safety, maintenance, or equipment concerns. Maintains contact with schools, community groups, parents/guardians, program partners, and others as required. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Experience working with children/teens. Interest or experience in STEM, technology, robotics, esports, gaming, or related areas. Ability to motivate youth and manage behavioral problems. Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth. Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment. Ability to adapt to changes and balance competing demands. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Criminal Background Check. Preferred Qualifications Current Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification or willingness to obtain. Associate's degree or higher in STEM, education, technology, computer science, engineering, or a related field. Experience with robotics, coding, esports, gaming, or STEM programming. Experience coaching or mentoring youth. Knowledge of youth development practices. Physical Demands Must be able to climb, bend, stoop, and reach. Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time. Must be able to pull, push, or lift up to 25 lbs.
