Community Trainer Duluth, MN Job Details Part-time 21 hours ago Qualifications Interactive learning teaching method Mid-level Curriculum implementation Instructor-led training (training delivery method) Classroom experience Productivity software Training & development Classroom Teaching Communication skills Teaching Child welfare Full Job Description Required Qualifications Extensive knowledge of child welfare practice in Minnesota Extensive knowledge of the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) Knowledge, skills and ability to integrate American Indian culture and values into curriculum and/or classroom facilitation Preferred Qualifications Training or teaching experience ICWA child welfare practice experience In-depth knowledge of or experience with the historical impacts of the child welfare system on American Indian families Tribal ICWA experience Ability to effectively engage the various learning styles of classroom participants Ability to utilize multiple teaching modalities and methods Ability to travel state-wide Skill in receiving and incorporating feedback and coaching Strong and timely communication skills Experience with Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn current classroom technology Strong collaboration, teamwork and team building skills The Tribal Training and Certification Partnership (TTCP) has openings for part-time (temporary casual) trainers to train public and tribal child welfare practitioners on topics related to the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA), Minnesota Indian Family Preservation Act (MIFPA), and best practices in Tribal child welfare and engagement. Trainers are hired to deliver content as outlined in a specified curriculum, which is based on county and tribal training needs. We are looking for trainers who have experience working effectively with American Indian families utilizing tribal best practices toward engagement, as well as tribal practice models. The TTCP is part of a partnership with the Minnesota Child Welfare Training Academy (MNCWTA) to provide statewide training and development for the child welfare workforce. Trainer Job Responsibilities Curricula topics are identified through the TTCP, reflecting individual tribal nation needs, universal tribal child welfare practice topics, as well as county implementation of ICWA, MIFPA, engagement, and best practices with American Indian families. Trainers are hired to train curriculum across the state. Trainers hired are expected to deliver content as outlined in the specified curriculum, which is based on county and tribal training needs. As part-time, temporary casual positions, trainers will fulfill the job duties described below:
Classroom Training:
(75%) Provide interactive training to child welfare professionals Interact with learners to enhance growth and development
Classroom Preparation:
(20%) Review and prepare curriculum content for training days Review any student pre-requisite or course assignments Prepare training rooms as necessary for training (room setup, computer/projector set up, etc.)
Training of Trainers/Feedback/Coaching:
(5%) Work with the TTCP in Training of Trainers (TOT) sessions. Actively participate in feedback and coaching sessions with TTCP staff. Actively incorporate recommendations and feedback from TOTs and coaching sessions. Applications must be submitted online.
