Job Description
Missouri Career Advisor Consultant Regional Professional Development Center Economic and Workforce Development Part-Time/Term (20 hours a week, benefits eligible) The Southeast Regional Professional Development Center (RPDC) has been housed on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University since 1996. The Center serves approximately 84 school districts in the southeast region. RPDC personnel provide training programs for the teachers and administrators throughout the area on a continuous basis. Primary Responsibilities Dedicate a minimum of 10 hours per week to Missouri Connections implementation, training, and support in the region Work collaboratively with school districts to develop and enhance career pathways and individual career and academic plan (ICAP) programs Assist school district and area career center staff in the development and implementation of a rigorous and relevant ICAP process for all students Provide technical assistance, guidance, and best practices for schools integrating Missouri Connections Participate in ongoing training and development to stay updated on Missouri Connections enhancements Coordinate regional Missouri Connections training and support under the direction of the Missouri Connections State Trainer Conduct a minimum of two Missouri Connections regional training sessions per quarter, focusing on supporting school counselors, educators, and administrators in utilizing the platform Collaborate on a regular basis with DESE School Counseling staff to ensure regional and state career education initiatives are aligned Work closely with Missouri Pathways Regional Consultants to integrate career development resources into STEAM and career pathway initiatives Gather and post relevant career development resources and events to a shared regional calendar Facilitate career planning opportunities such as regional STEAM events and career fairs in collaboration with Missouri Career Pathway Regional Consultants Attend and participate in statewide conferences and workshops related to career education and workforce development as requested by DESE School Counseling staff Conduct virtual and in-person professional development sessions based on school needs and state priorities Travel within the RPDC southeast Missouri region to provide Missouri Connections support, school visits, and regional training and attendance at DESE-required meetings/conferences Bachelor's degree in Education Knowledge of career education, Individual Career and Academic Plans (ICAPs), and Missouri Connections Five years of experience in education, with an emphasis on career readiness and workforce development Strong public speaking and facilitation abilities to lead training sessions Ability to engage educators, school counselors, and administrators in career development strategies Excellent problem-solving skills to support schools in implementing Missouri Connections Strong public speaking and facilitation skills with the ability to lead group discussions and engage partners around shared values toward a common vision Good listening skills and ability to think strategically and to synthesize core concepts from multiple speakers, helping to resolve disparities of perspective and reach agreement Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple projects, and ensure timely preparation of reports Knowledge of education and workforce issues Knowledge of the Missouri Pathways model Ability and means to travel in the state of Missouri on a regular basis
