Job Description

Specific responsibilities: The Community Development Specialist is responsible for facilitating community projects that contribute to successful business operations and vibrant communities. This position will administer federal, state, or foundation grants.
Main position responsibilities:
  • Project planning, outreach and research
  • Grant writing
  • Project Management
  • Administrative, recordkeeping, project budget management and compliance
  • Provide administrative support related to all activities of the EPEDC.
  • Excellent writing, research and project management skills
  • Demonstrated competency in persuasive writing, team collaboration, effective verbal and written communication and attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of State, Federal and private grant/loan programs
  • Experience with community planning projects and downtown revitalization
  • Competency in development and tracking of project budgets and financial management
  • Experience with public speaking and group facilitation
  • Skilled in coordinating large, complex projects, meeting deadlines and working effectively under pressure. This position requires the ability to prepare written reports to funding partners and present summaries of collaboration and leveraging efforts to project committees. The position is responsible for preparing minutes, in addition to quarterly and annual reports to funding partners.
  • Travel is required within the 5-county EPEDC service area. Occasional travel outside the region, including overnight travel to attend meetings, workshops and training seminars, is also required.
  • Set work hours with occasional evening hours for public meetings
  • Position requires the ability to communicate with the public, co‐workers, and stakeholder groups on a regular basis.
  • May need to sit at a desk, at meetings, and in vehicles for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to stand and walk short distances, stoop and bend, handle and lift books, papers, and office equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license, some use of a personal vehicle may be required with appropriate mileage reimbursement.
OTHER INFORMATION
  • This position reports directly to the EPEDC Executive Director
  • This is full‐time hourly position with benefit package including health insurance stipend and contribution to retirement program available
  • Office location is flexible between Glendive and Baker. o This is not a remote work position
  • Starting pay per hour depending on experience
