Job Description

The Election Specialist - Training is responsible for the administration of the training program for precinct officials. As a member of the Education and Outreach team, this role also assists with activities related to enhancing public knowledge and access to elections.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop training curriculum. Develop, design, and maintain all election official instructional materials. Conduct training needs assessments to enhance developed training programs. Conduct virtual and/or in-person training classes. Bachelor's degree preferred; Associate degree with at least two years of administrative work; or An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Special Requirements Must obtain NC Notary Public within 6 months of employment. Must be certified or obtain certification as a North Carolina Elections Administrator from the State Board of Elections within three years of employment. Tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (up to 10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
