This role design/builds and maintains curriculum, collaborates with subject matter experts (SMEs), and ensures that training meets clinical, operational, and technical requirements. The Principal Trainer plays a key role in supporting successful Epic implementation, upgrades, and ongoing optimization efforts.

Major Job Functions The following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job. The incumbent may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below. In addition, specific functions may change from time to time: Design, build, and maintain Epic training curriculum and supporting materials for assigned application(s) (e.g., Ambulatory, Inpatient, ASAP, Stork, Cadence/Prelude, Professional Billing/Hospital Billing, Cupid/Radiant, HIM, OpTime) Develop eLearning modules and maintain online learning tools in collaboration with the eLearning team. Prepare training lessons, printing materials, and set up the training room and environment prior to the training session Learn new content and consult with subject matter experts to develop training materials and answer any participant questions. Collaborate with other trainers by co-facilitating classroom instruction and assisting with exercises as needed Present information verbally and in writing in a clear and easy-to-understand manner. Follow up with trainees outside of the classroom to offer additional support Train staff and end users by teaching technical topics as needed. Manage projects by prioritizing projects and by creating and adhering to timelines Ability to round / communicate effectively with all levels of staff and present education in an organized, consistent manner, taking the students' ends into account during training. Incorporate feedback from others into existing training and training administration procedures. Collaborate with Application Analysts, SMEs, and operational leaders to ensure training reflects current workflows and best practices. Participate in system upgrades and enhancements by updating training content and delivering refresher training as needed. Development and dissemination of new policies and procedure required by the automated systems Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications The following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:Education and Formal Training:
Bachelor's degree or 8 years of experience in IT Healthcare EHR systems required (EPIC experience preferred) Obtain Principal Trainer Certification within three months of hire or accepting Principal Trainer job role requiredWork Experience:
Learning course script development experience (preferred). Learning management system experience (preferred). Knowledge, skills, and abilities required : Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language Demonstrated leadership characteristics and strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work across organizations and multiple audiences. Possess strong leadership skills, public speaking, and ability to inspire others. Ability to travel between facilities and training sites. Strong presentation, communication (verbal and written) and public speaking skills. Comfort with technology and ability to adapt to change. Ability to provide professional guidance and supervisory oversight to team members. Exercises a high degree of autonomy. Demonstrates project management concepts/skills. Demonstrates the use of critical thinking skills with the ability to prioritize needs rapidly. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Working knowledge of best practices in adult learning principles.Physical requirements:
Hearing and verbal ability to interact professionally with staff, managers, and vendors. Visual acuity to deal with computerized displays and printouts Manual dexterity to use standard keyboard is both required.
