Job Description
The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description New York City Children's Center is recruiting a Training Specialist 2 Mental Hygiene to lead the development of training programs to improve the on-the-job knowledge, skills, and abilities of facility staff. Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply.
As a Training Specialist 2 Mental Hygiene you will work in the Education and Training Department and your duties will include:
ORCandidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
ORIn accordance with Section 52.7 of the Civil Service Law, this notice advises all employees of the Office of Mental Health of our intention to conduct a non-competitive promotion examination for the position of Training Specialist 2 Mental Hygiene at New York City Children's Center. Permanent appointment may be made by non-competitive promotion of an applicant who meets the position's minimum qualifications if all requirements of non-competitive promotion are met.
The promotion field for the Training Specialist 2 Mental Hygiene position consists of candidates who have 1 year of permanent service as an Training Specialist 1 Mental Hygiene. As a Training Specialist 2 Mental Hygiene you will work in the Education and Training Department and your duties will include:
- Leading the planning, organization, and delivery of agency training;
- Overseeing the development of curricula by lower level staff
- Supervising lower level training specialists, paraprofessional and support staff.
- Developing new training initiatives and modifying existing programs based on assessment of program needs
- Evaluating training
- Acting as the organization's consultant to internal and external programs The minimum qualifications required for this vacancy.
