Job Description

About the Role The Boys & Girls Club of the Bellport Area is seeking reliable, energetic, and flexible Youth Development Professionals (Sub Pool / Per Diem) to provide substitute coverage across our programs serving youth ages 5-19. This role is critical to ensuring that our programs continue to run safely and effectively when staff are absent. You will work across Academics, Arts, Athletics, and enrichment programming, supporting a dynamic and engaging environment for our members. Schedule This is a per diem / on-call position based on program needs:
    School Days:
    Morning:
    7:00 AM
    • 9:00 AM ○
    Afternoon:
    2:00 PM
    • 6:00 PM
    • School Closures /
    Full Days:
    ○ 8:00 AM
    • 6:00 PM Key Responsibilities
    • Provide substitute coverage across multiple program areas (academics, arts, athletics)
    • Supervise and engage youth in structured, age-appropriate activities
    • Support homework help, creative arts, and recreational programming
    • Maintain active supervision and ensure safety at all times
    • Assist with attendance tracking and program documentation
    • Build positive relationships with youth and staff
    • Maintain clean, organized, and welcoming program spaces
    • Follow all organizational policies related to safety, behavior, and reporting Qualifications
    • High School Diploma or GED required
    • Experience working with youth preferred (afterschool, camp, education, recreation, etc.)
    • Strong communication and group management skills
    • Flexible, dependable, and able to adapt to different program settings
    • CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain) Why Join Us
