Job Description

Job Summary:
The Training Specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining structured training programs across all departments of Maximus Insurance Brokerage LLC. This role plays a critical part in standardizing onboarding, ensuring regulatory compliance, improving sales performance, and strengthening operational efficiency across multiple branches. The Training Specialist will lead new hire orientation, provide product and system training for licensed producers and CSRs, conduct compliance workshops, and support ongoing professional development initiatives. The position requires strong leadership, communication skills, and deep knowledge of insurance operations. This role also supports performance improvement initiatives, assists with internal process documentation, and collaborates with management to ensure employees meet company standards and productivity expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Training & Onboarding:
Conduct structured onboarding sessions for all new hires. Train employees on company policies, compliance requirements, and workplace standards. Ensure completion of required compliance and regulatory training. Evaluate employee readiness at the end of the 30-day orientation period. Develop onboarding checklists and structured training schedules.
Insurance & Product Training:
Train licensed producers on personal lines, commercial lines, and specialty insurance products. Train Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) on endorsements, renewals, claims intake, and servicing procedures. Develop product knowledge modules and internal certification benchmarks. Ensure all staff understand regulatory requirements and carrier guidelines.
Compliance & Policy Training:
Conduct annual policy review and compliance refreshers. Train employees on confidentiality standards, electronic monitoring policies, and workplace conduct expectations. Monitor regulatory updates and communicate necessary changes to staff. Maintain detailed training records for compliance purposes.
Performance Development:
Identify performance gaps and develop targeted improvement plans. Conduct role-playing exercises and sales coaching sessions. Support managers in implementing corrective action training. Track employee progress and productivity metrics.
Sales & Customer Service Development:
Train producers on cross-selling strategies, client retention, and closing techniques. Improve CSR customer service standards and communication skills. Conduct call review sessions and customer interaction workshops.
Systems & Technology Training:
Train employees on CRM systems, carrier portals, document management platforms, and internal workflows. Support implementation of new technology or process improvements. Assist with GOCO HR system training and usage standards.
Ongoing Professional Development:
Coordinate Continuing Education (CE) tracking for licensed staff. Organize monthly workshops and skills training sessions. Develop quarterly training calendars aligned with business growth goals.
Qualifications & Skills:
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the insurance industry. Active New York State insurance license required. Strong knowledge of personal and commercial insurance lines. Prior experience conducting training or mentoring staff preferred. Strong leadership and public speaking abilities. Excellent organizational and documentation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM platforms, and insurance carrier systems. Ability to travel between branches when needed. Bilingual (English and Mandarin or Spanish) preferred
Pay:
$20.00 - $35.00 per hour
