About the Role We are looking for a Development Specialist to join our team and play an important role in supporting CAC's mission. In this position, you will: Provide administrative and database support for our fundraising and donor engagement roles. What You'll Be Responsible For Your day-to-day may include: Provide administrative support to the Director of Development and assist with daily department needs. Enter, update, maintain, and audit donor, sponsorship, grant, and fundraising records in databases and spreadsheets. Process donations and ensure gifts are recorded accurately and timely. Download, organize, import, export, and update donor information between internal systems as needed. Maintain donor contact records, mailing lists, and communication preferences. Prepare donor acknowledgment letters, thank-you correspondence, labels, envelopes, and mail merge projects. Assist with filing, organizing, maintaining development records and supporting documentation. Help prepare reports, spreadsheets, and lists related to fundraising activity. Support event preparation, mailings, and donor outreach campaigns. Coordinate with internal departments to gather information needed for development activities. Perform general office and administrative support duties as assigned. Qualifications Preferred/Required:
High school diploma required; additional education preferred. Prior administrative, clerical, customer service, office experience or data entry preferred. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Comfortable with repetitive computer-based tasks and managing large amounts of data accurately. Proficient in Excel for sorting, filtering, organizing lists, and basic spreadsheet management. Proficient in Word, including mail merge functions for letters, labels and envelopes. Familiarity and working knowledge with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. Ability to organize information and maintain accurate records. Strong time management skills and dependability. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism. Compensation & Benefits Pay:
From $15.00/hour Working Conditions / Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or operate objects, controls, or tools listed above; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Exposure and handling unvetted animals and their waste is frequent.
