Staff Development & Individual Advocacy Coordinator 2.7 2.7 out of 5 stars Cincinnati, OH 45241 From $50,000 a year - Full-time TruCare Provider Services 18 reviews From $50,000 a year - Full-time Position Summary The Staff Development & Individual Advocacy Coordinator is responsible for supporting employee readiness and quality service delivery across TruCare Provider Services. This position assists with new hire onboarding, annual training compliance, CPR and other required staff development activities, while also serving as a support resource to help reinforce person-centered services in the field. This role helps bridge the gap between staff training and day-to-day service implementation by supporting staff in understanding and following Individual Service Plans (ISPs), preparing individuals for appointments and important events, and promoting consistency in service delivery. The Staff Development & Individual Advocacy Coordinator works closely with leadership, training staff, and program teams to identify training needs, reinforce expectations, and support quality outcomes for individuals served. This role supports staff readiness and service quality but does not function as a supervisor unless specifically assigned. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesStaff Training and Development Assist with onboarding and orientation support for newly hired staff. Conduct or support day-in-the-life training for onboarding employees. Facilitate annual training sessions for new and current staff as assigned. Conduct or coordinate CPR/First Aid training in accordance with agency expectations. Work with CORE to Identify staff who are due for required trainings and assist with follow-up to support timely completion. Prepare training materials, attendance records, and other related documentation. Provide additional training support to established staff as needed, including refresher training, individualized retraining, and service-specific instruction. Support training related to ISP implementation, documentation expectations, person-centered care, rights, and other agency priorities. Communicate training needs, concerns, and trends to the appropriate supervisor or department leader. ISP and Individual Support Coordination Review Individual Service Plans and related materials to help ensure staff understanding of individual-specific supports and expectations. Assist in reinforcing staff knowledge related to supervision levels, goals, health and safety supports, medical needs, and important-to/important-for information. Help monitor whether services appear to be implemented in a manner consistent with the ISP and communicate concerns through the appropriate chain of command. Support preparation for individuals' medical appointments, including helping ensure staff are aware of upcoming appointments, needed documents, follow-up items, and relevant health information. Assist in identifying barriers that may impact quality service delivery, appointment readiness, or staff preparedness. Promote person-centered practices by helping staff remain focused on the needs, preferences, rights, and outcomes of individuals served. Field Support and Home Visits Conduct scheduled home and service site visits to support quality service delivery and reinforce staff expectations. Provide in-person support and coaching to staff related to service implementation, professionalism, training follow-through, and person-centered practices. Assist with field-based training needs, including individualized support training and other identified areas of need. Observe for possible concerns related to training gaps, ISP implementation, home environment, service consistency, or appointment preparation and communicate findings appropriately. Support staff in a manner that respects the dignity, privacy, independence, and rights of individuals served. Communication and Collaboration Serve as a supportive connection between staff, individuals served, and agency leadership. Collaborate with Program Managers, Senior Program Managers, HR, Nursing, Compliance, and other departments as needed. Communicate clearly and professionally regarding training expectations, service concerns, and support needs. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all settings. Support TruCare's mission by promoting accountability, person-centered services, and staff development. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Experience working in services for individuals with developmental disabilities preferred Experience in staff training, mentoring, coaching, or leadership support preferred Knowledge of person-centered practices, ISP implementation, and staff training expectations preferred CPR/First Aid instructor certification preferred or ability to obtain if required by the agency Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation required Ability to work a flexible schedule, including rotating weekday and weekend assignments as needed Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong understanding of person-centered service delivery Ability to communicate expectations clearly and effectively to new and existing staff Ability to reinforce agency standards and identify training or service gaps Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple tasks, appointments, and training schedules Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with leadership Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality Ability to build rapport with staff while supporting accountability and quality outcomes Work Environment and Physical Requirements Frequent travel between office locations, training sites, and residential or community-based service settings Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and move throughout office and field environments Ability to use a computer and other office equipment for documentation, scheduling, and communication Ability to perform duties in a variety of environments while maintaining professionalism and flexibility
