A Training and Development Specialist directs education or staff training programs for a company, such as large firms or distributorships, or private post-secondary educational providers.
09/03/2026 PURPOSE Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, the Skills Trainer supports the planning, implementation, and evaluation of skills-specific academic and therapeutic services for school-aged youth in an assigned treatment program. The Skills Trainer implements education and treatment programming in a classroom environment as a member of an interdisciplinary team of professionals. The Skills Trainer provides education, direction, and modeling to assist program clients with their academic and treatment goals for implementing identified evidence-based therapeutic interventions, assisting with academic instruction, and providing skills training. The Skills Trainer provides emotional support, leadership, and direction to all program clients. The Skills Trainer consults with team members, agency personnel, and family members regarding current program client issues. The Skills Trainer is accountable for providing supervision and trauma and stress-informed care for all program clients.
Minimum Qualifications:
Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities to successfully complete the essential functions of this role is appropriate. A representative way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be.
Preferred Experience:
Two years of experience as a direct care worker with at-risk children and/or adolescents.
Training:
Equivalent to completion of a bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences. Position will be located in Children's Education Day Center -
