Job Description
UPMC is searching for a Clinical Professional Development Specialist to support our UPMC McKeesport Emergency Department! This full-time salaried role will primarily oversee McKeesport's Emergency Department educational needs and assist with other classroom trainings as needed. You'll be working 5 daylight Monday-Friday shifts, with the very occasional off-shift or weekend shift to help with trainings. Preference given to experienced nurses who have greater than 3 years of nursing experience in an Emergency Department with their BSN (minimum of 2 years of total nursing experience is required.) If you also have previous experience with precepting or teaching, we invite you to apply to join our team! This role is focused on improving patient outcomes within our Emergency Department by leading orientation programs, providing ongoing education, and implementing effective learning experiences to foster clinical excellence. The Clinical Professional Development Specialist has the authority, responsibility and accountability for delivery of clinical education curriculum to clinical staff. Orientation and ongoing clinical education are the main objectives of this position. The Clinical Professional Development Specialist ensures clinical staff in assigned area of responsibility receive ongoing training/education to provide high quality patient care and the UPMC Patient Experience to patients. Title and salary will be determined based off experience and education level.
