BASIC PURPOSE
  • This position requires the selected candidate to submit the PA State Police check , the Child Abuse Clearance, and the FBI Fingerprint check to HR prior to the first day of employment.
NOTE:
There are two positions open Week 1 is June 29th to July 2nd Week 2 is July 6th to July 10th Basic Puq1ose: The Assistant Trainer supports the Lead Trainer in delivering a hands-on PC building camp for students in grades 5-8. This role helps facilitate activities, assists individual students, and ensures a smooth, organized, and supportive learning experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support students in grades 5-8 as they explore PC building through hands-on learning activities
  • Support students with varying levels of technical experience, adapting explanations and guidance to meet individual needs
  • Support the lead instructor in delivering lessons and activities, including assisting with demonstrations and managing small group work
  • Assist in maintaining classroom organization and technology setup throughout the day
  • Other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Education/Training/Work Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in classroom and/or informal educational settings using computer-assisted instruction.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
  • Desire to work with children of all ages, as well as adults.
  • Passionate about higher education, particularly in STEM.
  • Experience with STEM programming for youth.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess an outgoing and enthusiastic personality.
  • Amenable to flexible weekly schedule; ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
Demonstrated ability to:
  • Communicate effectively with children and adults.
  • Work in multicultural settings.
  • Conduct effective classes and demonstrations.
  • Lead public programs with strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Adapt during program delivery to satisfy real-time scenarios.
  • Troubleshoot and learn new technology.
