Job Description

UPMC Northwest Seneca, PA Full Time Educator Join us as a Clinical Professional Development Specialist and empower nurses through dynamic orientation and ongoing education that elevates patient care every day. Responsibilities Develop and maintain strong working relationships across the organization through mentoring, support, teamwork, and positive communication with frontline clinical staff. Clearly convey information and ideas through multiple communication methods to engage learners and support knowledge retention. Serve as a formal and informal mentor to new clinical staff and support new preceptors in becoming confident and effective in their roles. Lead unit‑based onboarding and orientation activities. Teach staff how to deliver comprehensive patient care, including assessment, interdisciplinary planning, implementation, evaluation, education, and discharge planning. Identify, communicate, and respond to the learning needs of clinical staff. Act as a resource and consultant for patients, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members within area of specialty. Promote and support patient education initiatives for frontline clinical staff. Participate in department‑based performance improvement projects. Participate in professional and community organizations. Develop coaching and feedback skills to support UPMC Experience initiatives such as Bedside Shift Report, Hourly Rounding, and AIDET. Provide training and education during non‑traditional hours based on unit needs. Perform duties in accordance with system‑wide competencies and behaviors. Bachelor's degree required Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience required Relevant teaching experience preferred Emergency Department experience preferred Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances CPR required per AHA standards (didactic + skills demonstration) within 30 days of hire ACLS due within 1 year of hire or transfer PALS due within 1 year of hire or transfer Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Act 34 Clearance UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
