Full Job Description Overview:
Apogee is actively seeking a COMSAT Technical Instructor to support
USSPACECOM.
The Technical Instructor conducts training classes on the Satellite Configuration Control Equipment subsystems for the Defense Satellite Communications System (DSCS) and Wideband Global Satellite (WGS) satellite constellations. This is a full-time located in Colorado Springs, CO with up to 60% travel required . This position requires domestic and international travel. •Contingent upon

Responsibilities:
Position Summary:
The Technical Instructor travels to each site as required to conduct the requested training as directed by the Training Manager. Course durations vary but can require travel for a period of 1 to 5 weeks per training course. Upon completion of the course, the Technical Instructor collects course critiques, issues training certificates, and delivers course training results. The Technical Instructor also updates course materials for each new hardware or software version release for control systems and ancillary equipment by the OEM or the Government (typically once a year). The Technical Instructor integrates any New Equipment Training (NET) packages into the appropriate block of instruction as fielding occurs. The Technical Instructor is responsible for updating the course catalog for the Wideband SATCOM Operational Management System (WSOMS) suite of courses. Although this position is based out of a facility in Colorado Springs, CO, remote work may be allowed if first approved by the Program Manager.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Updates and maintains the training catalog with the latest information Travels to the WSOCs, the Regional Satellite Support Centers (RSSC), the Defence Network Operations Centre (DNOC), 53 Space Operations Squadron (53 SOPS), and Remote Monitoring and Control Equipment stations (RMCE) to conduct course catalog training Integrates any New Equipment Training (NET) packages into the appropriate block of instruction as fielding occurs Collect course critiques, issue training certificates, and deliver course training results
Qualifications:
Minimum Experience:
Citizenship:
Must be a US citizen with a valid US Passport (or ability to obtain)
Clearance:
A minimum of a TS with ability to obtain SCI required at time of application
Education:
HS Diploma with 8 years relevant experience OR, Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of four (4) years of prior relevant experience OR , two (2) years post-Secondary/associate degree plus a minimum of eight (8) years of prior related experience
Additional Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years of related SATCOM and instructional experience in a military environment Proven experience in SATCOM operations and maintenance Excellent technical skills to understand and translate information into presentable instructional material
Preferred Experience:
Instructor Qualified Certified in "Train the Trainer" or similar
Additional Information Location:
Colorado Springs based Travel (up to 60%) to CONUS and OCONUS sites

USD $110,000.00 - USD $120,000.00 /Yr.
