• you'll work one-on-one with clients in their homes and communities, teaching practical life skills that foster confidence, independence, and self-advocacy. We don't simply provide services; we teach skills, build confidence, and help people become more independent. What You'll Do Every client is unique, which means no two days are exactly alike. One client may be practicing community safety skills while shopping, another may be learning healthy relationship boundaries, while another is building confidence through communication or self-advocacy exercises. Every training session is individualized, engaging, and designed to help clients achieve meaningful goals in their everyday lives. 1. Teach & Empower Conduct individualized one-on-one training sessions in clients' homes and community settings. Teach practical life skills related to personal safety, healthy relationships, sexuality education, self-advocacy, communication, and online safety. Adapt lessons and teaching strategies to each client's strengths, goals, and learning style. Encourage confidence, independence, critical thinking, and practical problem-solving. 2. Build Meaningful Relationships Develop supportive, professional relationships with clients while maintaining healthy boundaries. Foster a positive, engaging learning environment that motivates and empowers clients. Collaborate professionally with families, support teams, supervisors, and coworkers. 3. Maintain Professional Excellence Complete accurate and timely documentation, training reports, and administrative responsibilities. Manage appointments, schedules, and deadlines independently. Communicate proactively with supervisors and teammates. Maintain client confidentiality and professional standards. Work Schedule & Flexibility This is a hybrid position that combines community-based client services with independent remote administrative work. Typical Schedule

• Part-time position Minimum availability of 20 hours per week to complete 8 trainings per week between Monday
• Friday, 12 PM
• 6 PM (clients' peak hours).

This roughly translates to being available 4-5 hours per day at least 4 days during the week. Administrative work is completed remotely outside of client appointments Weekly schedules may vary based on client needs Service Area Applicants should reside within or near one of the following communities: Norwalk, Lakewood, Signal Hill, Bellflower Applicants should be willing to travel within approximately a 10-mile service area. Previous experience working with people with developmental disabilities is helpful, but it isn't required. We're looking for people who are compassionate, dependable, curious, and eager to learn. Through comprehensive onboarding, mentorship, and ongoing professional development, we'll provide the knowledge, coaching, and support you need to become an exceptional Advocacy & Training Specialist.

Required Qualifications:

Reliable transportation for travel to client locations (drive time is paid and mileage is reimbursed) Valid driver's license and proof of personal auto insurance Ability to pass a criminal background check Strong written and verbal communication skills in English Excellent organizational and time-management skills Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities Strong interpersonal skills, including empathy, professionalism, flexibility, and sound judgment Comfortable using Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Microsoft 365, and other basic technology platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:
