Early adolescence is an optimal time to enhance learning, but many educators do not have the benefit of scientific methods that foster these skills. Our training program enables middle school through ninth grade teachers to take advantage of this important brain development stage and optimize student learning for success in the classroom and beyond. The Training Specialist will provide technical skills to train teachers in the classroom to carry out SMART training techniques. Responsible for coordinating procedures and performing additional lab-related duties in accordance with needs for data processing and coding. Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in a related field of science (such as Social Science or Basic Sciences.), two years of experience performing research or working in an educational environment or an equivalent combination of work experience, education. Preferred Education and Experience Master's degree preferred. Teaching experience highly desired. ground with large scale study, including recruiting, monitoring and retaining subjects a plus. Other Qualifications To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Work with a team to train teachers to implement Strategic Memory Advanced Reasoning Training (SMART) in their classrooms. Exercises responsibility for project performance and accountability for progress and personally performs research work in middle and high school classrooms across Texas. May present original ideas for follow-up studies. Recommends the utilization of new or revised techniques and procedures to obtain desired results. May assist in the preparation of material for reports or publications. Physical Demands and Working Conditions Multi-night travel to schools. Ability to lift and transport training materials. Long hours at computer terminal. Training teachers in a classroom and onsite. Physical Activities Working Conditions Additional Information A remote work schedule is not available for this position.
