Job Description

Teach HVAC courses to a diverse student body using effective teaching strategies; develop, revise, and maintain course materials; recommend/design new programs; maintain office hours; participate in appropriate professional development opportunities; participate in College and community activities, promote the mission of the College; develop/implement retention strategies; assist in graduate placement; attend graduation ceremony; assist with student advising and registration; serve on College committees; promote institutional goals; assist with departmental administrative responsibilities. Teaching may be on any campus or by distance learning, and may be days, nights, weekends, or a combination.
TEACHING PERFORMANCE
•The ability to present course materials through appropriate instructional strategies to facilitate the learning process.
INSTRUCTIONAL DEVELOPMENT
•The development, revision, and maintenance of courses and curriculum through course objectives, outlines, and appropriate materials.
INSTRUCTIONAL MANAGEMENT
•The effective use of required office hours, exhibition of effective classroom management and control, and timely and accurately submitted reports.
STUDENT ADVISEMENT
•The participation of the faculty member, when applicable, in assisting students in personal and professional development.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND COLLEGE ENGAGEMENT
•The participation in college and community service activities that promote the institution, along with ongoing professional development efforts designed to maintain and enhance skills, knowledge, and effectiveness in the position. Must hold a certificate in HVAC and have a minimum of 3 years of work experience. Associate degree in HVAC and 5 years of work experience. Professional, collegial, and ethical conduct, decisions, and relationships are expected at all times.
