Summary:
The Training Specialist-Technical I is responsible for providing on-site training of service agents and/or FBD personnel on the installation and servicing of FBD equipment. This position is also responsible for the development, updating and preparation of training manuals used during training and for providing technical expertise for sales support to customers and service agents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops and maintains service training materials. Train and certify service agents on the installation and servicing of FBD equipment. Interface and provide technical expertise and assistance for customers, service agents, and distributors on technical concerns and troubleshooting of FBD equipment. Provides technical support in the management of field tests and evaluations of new and innovative products. Provides support and assistance with new and major equipment installations, both domestically and internationally. Responsible for decision making in the field that identifies the customers and/or service agents concerns and assists in the development of the resolution. Perform other duties as needed and assigned. Minimum Qualifications -
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required. Associate degree in Applied Science in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, or in Electrical Technology, or certification in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, or related field. Must have a minimum of 1 year of technical support or school related experience. Ability to work to with little or no supervision. Thorough knowledge and understanding of frozen beverage systems and components. Ability to identify root causes and solutions to equipment failures and/or service issues. Detail oriented with excellent organization and time management skills. Excellent communication skills for effectively communicating technical and functional matters for the purpose of providing instruction in a classroom environment, as well as solving equipment operational and performance issues. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interface professionally and responsibly with customers, service agents, employees and visitors. Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Ability to travel and work in the field for extended periods of time. Must be able to pass a background check, drug test and a reference check .
Physical Demands:
Approximately 60% travel within the United States, variable depending on business needs. International travel may be required. Required to stand, walk, lift, carry, push, pull, balance, kneel, reach, have eye/hand/foot coordination, climb, crawl, and grasp, occasionally sit, and type. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. This position works in a typical office environment, manufacturing environment and at customers' sites. Ability to drive for extended periods of time throughout the day to travel to customer sites. Clarity of vision including the ability to appropriately differentiate colors. Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds.
