A Brief Overview The Accounting Operations and Transformation Technical Trainer is responsible for designing, delivering, and maintaining training programs that help accounting and finance teams use Workday and supporting systems accurately, consistently, and efficiently. This role translates complex accounting processes, system functionality, standard operating procedures, and cross-functional workflows into practical learning materials for end users. This position partners with stakeholders to support system adoption, process standardization, operational readiness, and continuous improvement. As a member of the Accounting Operations and Transformation team, this position will also assist with other initiatives to meet departmental goals. What you will do Develops and delivers instructor-led, virtual, and self-paced training for accounting systems, SOPs, workflow tools, and related business processes. Creates and maintains training materials, including user guides, job aids, process maps, quick-reference documents, presentations, simulations, and short-form videos. Translates accounting policies, system configuration, and operational procedures into clear, task-based learning content for varied audiences. Partners with subject matter experts to document end-to-end accounting workflows, system touchpoints, approval paths, and control requirements, including highlighting key control points and dependencies. Supports enhancements, upgrades, and process changes by developing testing and training plans and readiness materials. Conducts training needs assessments and identifies gaps in user knowledge, system adoption, process compliance, and workflow execution. Facilitates onboarding and refresher training for accounting, finance, and business users. Provides post-training coaching, office hours, and user support to reinforce learning and improve adoption. Evaluates training effectiveness using assessments, learner feedback, adoption metrics, error trends, and operational performance data. Collaborates with process owners to promote consistent use of systems, standardized workflows, and adherence to internal controls, and serves as a resource to other departments for process and control documentation guidance and support as needed. Communicates effectively with all levels of management to ensure documentation meets business needs. Proactively identifies opportunities to enhance documentation quality, control effectiveness, and process efficiency. Stays current with industry best practices and regulatory changes, integrating new requirements into documentation and controls to ensure compliance. Performs other duties as assigned, maintaining flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment. Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and standards. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree an undergraduate/graduate degree with a focus in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Process Engineering, or related discipline required 4-6 years experience developing and delivering training for enterprise systems, accounting platforms, ERP modules, workflow tools, or business applications required Background in accounting operations, shared services, financial reporting, internal controls, or audit support required Experience with ERP or accounting systems such as Workday, Oracle, EnterpriseOne or comparable platforms required Experience in accounting operations, financial close processes, reconciliations, journal entries, procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, intercompany, and related finance workflows required Background in financial reporting, internal controls, audit support, or business process transformation preferred Experience supporting system rollouts, process migrations, control remediation, business process transformation or workflow automation initiatives preferred Close attention to detail, self-starter, efficient time management, critical thinker, inquisitive, and strong organizational skills. Proficiency in
Microsoft Office Applications:
Excel, Word, Outlook, etc. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly demonstrating the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and departments. Ability to work in a high-paced, deadline-driven environment. Limited travel as needed. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt content for different learner levels and business functions.
