Job Description
Primary Purpose To support the vision, mission, and strategic priorities of ESC Region 12. The Talent Development Specialist provides high-level consultation, training, and coaching to support the Texas Mentorship Training and Texas Strategic Staffing grants, as well as the broader development of the educator pipeline. This role is dedicated to building the capacity of Texas teachers and leaders by implementing research-based mentoring and induction frameworks. The Specialist ensures that teacher mentors and campus leaders have the skills necessary to provide high-impact support, ultimately increasing teacher retention and improving student outcomes across the region. Qualifications Education/Certification Bachelor's Degree Master's Degree preferred Experience with teacher certification/mentorship is preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills Knowledge and ability to provide mentorship to other professionals through goal setting and performance management. Experience in effectively implementing statewide initiatives for developing educators and campus/district-level leaders. Experience working with LEAs and EPPs/University Partnerships for the development of future educators and mentors throughout the region. Proven ability to provide professional mentorship, set actionable goals, and manage performance to build leadership capacity in others.
Advanced ability to facilitate learning in both face-to-face and virtual environments, including expertise in flipped and blended learning models.
In-depth knowledge of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), statewide assessments, and the continuum of educator development from pre-service to leadership.
Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; proven ability to deliver high-impact presentations and manage public relations with diverse groups.
Ability to leverage integrated software systems to architect data models, perform rigorous analysis of educator performance metrics, and produce high-level technical documentation.

General Responsibilities Develop and foster innovative thinking by providing professional development and expert assistance utilizing research-based best practices for mentoring and preparing educators.
Coordinate and facilitate professional development by providing mentorship to other professionals through intentional goal setting and performance management.
Effectively implement statewide initiatives designed to develop educators and campus/district-level leaders, ensuring alignment with state and federal requirements.
Provide expert assistance to Local Education Agencies (LEAs) and build robust partnerships with Educator Preparation Programs (EPPs) and universities to develop future educators and mentors.
Encourage and lead collaboration between department staff, other ESCs, districts, and state agencies to ensure a unified approach to talent development.
Maintain positive, solution-focused relationships with customer school districts and communicate effectively with regional and statewide partners on various projects.
Drive service excellence through the implementation of Quality Management System (QMS) initiatives and adherence to organizational policies and procedures.

Benefit Information
ESC Region 12 provides a monetary contribution up to $575 per month to use for employee/family healthcare and supplemental benefits.
Employee earns state personal, sick, and vacation leave.
All employees contribute to both: Teachers Retirement System (TRS) and the Social Security retirement programs
