JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary The Training and Retention Lead is responsible for training and compliance, staffing plan development, and retention for the Hub and/or Preload operations. This . He/She ensures employee concerns are addressed to maintain appropriate safety and retention within the Hub and/or Preload operations. Other responsibilities may include training supervisors, compliance supervisors, training coordinators, training specialists, and communications specialists. The position may require travel in personal vehicle but all related expenses will be reimbursed via Expense Policy. Job Duties Assist in training the new employeesAssist in the on boarding process, validating all training packets are completePlan and coordinate weekly retention activitiesPlans and completes work with thoroughness, giving attention to specific information, and individual details, conditions, necessary record keeping, and elements of that work. Conducts effective meetings by remaining neutral, promoting open discussion, providing structure and process for engagement, advocating collaboration, cultivating shared responsibility, and building consensus and agreement. Summarizes others' contributions and deals constructively with arguments or conflictsDevelops strategic plans (i.e., staffing plan, hiring plan, training compliance plan, retention plan, and career development plan) to support Hub/Preload operations. Analyzes and forecasts training costs to stay within established budgetSchedules department meetings, conferences, and training to communicate training strategies to direct reportsAnalyzes trend data provided by Industrial Engineering to develop hiring schedule projectionsConducts audits (e.g., training attendance audits, agenda adherence audits, graduated workload audits, etc.) to ensure proper administration of the New Employee Orientation Program (i.e., Cornerstone)Leads facilitator workshops to develop Cornerstone facilitatorsConducts Cornerstone calendar audits to ensure employee orientation training is occurring in a timely mannerOversees training and development of supervisors to ensure appropriate supervisor orientationConducts focus group discussions with employees to increase job satisfaction and retentionMonitors employee recognition programs to ensure they are appropriately leveraged on an ongoing basisAttends Co-chaired Employee Retention Committee (CERC) meetings to provide leadership and ensure retention issues are addressedDevelops and implements plans to maintain staffing objectivesSolicits feedback from supervisors to keep abreast of daily activities impacting training and complianceJob RequirementsAs needed, must be willing to travel using personal vehicle to/from company facilities; all approved expenses will be reimbursed via Expense PolicyExperience with dispatch, preload training, or ground transportation trainingApplies knowledge of hub processes, procedures and methods to ensure safety, quality and performance within the operations. Uses knowledge of hub tools, equipment and technology to properly and safely sort and load packages/shipmentsPackage Dispatch and Helper Tracker proficiency preferredPreload Operations knowledge preferredGround Transportation knowledge preferredLabor Relations Knowledge preferredAdvanced Intermediate level in Microsoft Access and Excel Preferred Bachelor's Degree or Intl Equivalent
