Dog Daycare Attendant 2.9 2.9 out of 5 stars 914 Beltline Rd SW, Decatur, AL 35601 $10.50 - $11.00 an hour - Part-time, Full-time Lucky Dog Daycare 14 reviews $10.50 - $11.00 an hour - Part-time, Full-time Daycare Attendants are responsible for the supervision and management of all dogs attending our daycare program. Attendants ensure the physical safety and mental well being of all dogs, while supporting and encouraging fun, safe, clean, healthy play and choices to engage or disengage, based on a pups preference and comfort level. Attendants are also responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of the dogs as necessary, the daycare facility, as well as other areas of the facility as assigned. This is an on your feet position working inside and outside allowing you and the pups a safe and fun environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Greet pet owners, check dogs in, process payments, and discuss any special requirements in a positive and professional manner; Ability to work a playroom while continuously on your feet showing the dogs attention and care and ensuring pet safety; Proactively address behavioral issues in a timely and effective manner. This may include crating for time outs when necessary, but NEVER includes the use of physical force or punishment of a dog. Lucky Dog Daycare has zero-tolerance for the mistreatment of animals or using non-approved dog management methods; Aware of environment at all times and consistently attends to any special needs dogs including but not be limited to dogs that need to be crated when other dogs enter the playroom and dogs that cannot be together; Give dogs food and water throughout the day; Handle bathing as necessary; Continually monitor playroom keep area free of messes and continual spot cleaning throughout the shift; Keep records of feeding and medications schedules for each dog as necessary; Create monthly arts and crafts for dog owners; Post appropriate content on Social Media to show daily daycare activities; Prepare daily report cards for pet owners; Perform daily and weekly cleaning assignments which may include, but is not limited to cleaning all glass surfaces, play equipment, toys, sweeping, mopping, taking out the trash, and replacing water bowls; Follow standard cleaning procedures including proper use of chemicals to ensure a safe environment for both people and dogs; Work cohesively with their team in a respectful and professional manner; Communicate effectively both orally and written. Utilize daily activity reports to communicate relevant information to supervisor; Maintain a positive attitude and demeanor in all aspects of their position including room management and customer service; Maintain consistent time and attendance standards; Follow company dress code guidelines for professional and safe standards; Arrive on time for scheduled shifts and in the case of an emergency call in advance of their shift to allow time for proper coverage; Perform other duties as assigned.POSITION REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or GED certificate At least 17 years old Prior experience at a dog daycare facility, shelter, or in personal animal care, preferred Familiarity with various dog breeds Passion for taking care of animals Teamwork and communication skills Ability to open the building at 6:45 am or stay as late as 6:15 pm Available to work 30 to 45 hours per week Reliable transportation Ability to work occasional weekends for special eventsPhysical Effort :
Work requires lifting and carrying animals (will be assisted by other staff members in lifting animals over 40lbs) and moving playroom equipment. Ability to stand for up to 8 hours, bend repetitively and move quickly throughout the building while maintaining your composure and keeping a smile on your face.Working conditions:
