This position ensures the safety, well-being, and comfort of all guests during their daycare, day stay, or overnight stays. The Pet Care Specialist works collaboratively with the team to uphold the professional and caring image of The Ark through high standards of work and customer service.

Schedule:
Schedules vary based on business needs. Weekend and holiday availability may be required. --- Key Responsibilities Guest Care (Daycare and Day Stay)
    Safety & Well-being:
    Ensure the safety, health, and comfort of all pets during their stay at the resort.
      Play & Exercise:
      Provide exercise, playtime, and companionship to pets, particularly those in daycare or boarding, according to company protocols.
        Health Monitoring:
        Monitor pets for any signs of illness, injury, or behavior changes. Report any concerns immediately to the supervisor.
          Feeding & Hydration:
          Prepare meals based on individual pet needs and follow specific feeding schedules. Report any issues with food or water intake.
            Recordkeeping:
            Maintain accurate records of each pet's care, including feeding schedules, behavior, and health status. Provide detailed reports to supervisors and owners as needed.
              Client Interaction:
              Communicate with pet owners about their pets' activities and behaviors during their stay.
                Emergency Care:
                Administer basic first aid and assist in evaluating pets for illness or injury, following company protocols and reporting to supervisors.
                  Other Duties:
                  Assist with various tasks as needed to ensure the overall success of resort operations. Cleaning & Maintenance
                    Sanitation:
                    Regularly clean and sanitize pet dishes, bedding, toys, and living areas. Ensure fresh water is always available for pets.
                      Laundry & Supplies:
                      Wash and fold pet bedding, towels, and personal items. Re-stock supplies as necessary and notify the supervisor of any shortages.
                        Waste Management:
                        Empty trash receptacles and transport waste to the designated area as required.
                          General Maintenance:
                          Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen, laundry, and other resort areas to ensure a safe and pleasant environment. Additional Responsibilities
                            Photography:
                            Take VIP photos of guests and send them to the front desk for owner communication.
                              Facility Movement:
                              Safely move pets throughout the resort for various activities, always ensuring their safety and comfort.
                                Bathing & Grooming:
                                Assist with bathing and light grooming needs for guests as requested. --- Qualifications Education & Experience
                                • High School Diploma or GED required.
                                • At least one year of experience in animal care or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
                                • Passion for working with animals and commitment to their well-being. Skills & Abilities
                                Communication:
                                Ability to clearly and professionally communicate with clients and team members, both verbally and in writing.
                                  Organizational Skills:
                                  Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
                                    Problem-Solving:
                                    Ability to think critically and handle unexpected situations calmly.
                                      Multitasking:
                                      Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising quality or safety.
                                        Computer Skills:
                                        Basic computer literacy and the ability to learn industry-specific software. Physical Demands
                                        • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds.
                                        • Good sense of smell and the ability to adjust focus, including close and distance vision.
                                        • Ability to work in a variety of environments, including exposure to animals, cleaning chemicals, and changing temperatures. --- Work Environment
                                        • Exposure to various environmental factors such as noise, temperature fluctuations (indoor/outdoor), and animal-related materials (e.g., dander, hair, waste).
                                        • Frequent interaction with animals, which may include dealing with pet waste and cleaning tasks.
                                        • Exposure to cleaning chemicals and airborne particles during routine cleaning procedures.
