Pura Vida Pet Care is a professional pet care and dog walking company servicing Tucson and surrounding cities. We are committed to providing excellent pet care for all animals who cross our path, and we are looking for awesome people to help us keep pets happy and healthy in their own homes!Job Description:
As a Pet Care Specialist & Dog Walker, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care for pets in their homes and ensuring our clients homes remain secure. This role is perfect for someone who loves animals, enjoys spending time in different environments, and is looking for a flexible, rewarding job.Key Responsibilities:

: 85730, 85710, 85748, 85749, or 85750In-Home Pet Care:
Provide loving and attentive care to pets, including feeding, walking, administering medications (if needed), and offering companionship.House Care:
Ensure the client's home is secure, including tasks like bringing in the mail, watering plants, and adjusting lights or blinds as requested.Communication:
Maintain clear and timely communication with both clients and our team, providing updates and addressing any concerns that may arise during your stay.Emergency Handling:
Be prepared to handle any emergencies related to the pets or the home, following our guidelines and contacting appropriate parties as necessary. Respect forClient Privacy:
Maintain the utmost respect for client privacy and property, adhering to all instructions provided by the client and our team.Qualifications:
Here's what gets our tails wagging! Basic Requirements of our dedicatedPet Care Professionals:
- Must physically be able to lift 20+ lbs, walk for 30 minutes straight, and can safely walk two medium size dogs in cold, hot, and rainy weather!
- Must have some mid-day availability during the week
- Have a smartphone and be able to become familiar with our software program. We use an app that allows our clients full transparency with time tracking and GPS tracking of their furry family members' adventures.
- Have a love and passion for animal care and safety
- Reliable, responsible, honest, dedicated, excellent at time management, and detailed oriented
- Attention to detail
- every animal is different and every pet parent has specific instructions. Being able to understand directions and get things right every time is super important!
- Excellent communicator with our management team, coworkers, and clients
- Ability to communicate quickly and effectively with clients and the team by returning app messages, texts, emails and phone calls quickly.
- Have a valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation
- Enjoy driving
- you are in the car driving between visits during the day!
- Part time work with option to add additional hours overtime
- Willing to work at least 2 weekends a month
- Willing to work some major holidays
- Willing to conduct early morning, afternoon, and evening visits
- You must be willing to pass a background/criminal check and become certified in pet CPR and first aid
- Live within a reasonable distance of our service area
- The ability to work autonomously with little supervision
- Be a team player that is good with change
