This is a hands-on position focused on the daily care, safety, cleanliness, and comfort of the dogs staying with us. The ideal candidate is comfortable working around dogs of all sizes and temperaments, can handle physically active work, and takes pride in keeping animal-care areas clean and organized. Responsibilities Provide fresh water and monitor eating and drinking Take dogs outside for potty breaks, exercise, and playtime Monitor dogs for changes in behavior, appetite, stool, mobility, or overall condition Safely handle and move dogs between kennels, yards, and activity areas Clean and disinfect kennels, floors, walls, bowls, bedding, and common areas Pick up waste and maintain clean outdoor play areas Report health or behavior concerns to management immediately Help maintain a safe environment for both animals and staff Complete daily cleaning and care checklists Assist with other resort duties as needed Qualifications Comfortable working with dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments Dependable and punctual Strong attention to detail Able to follow written and verbal instructions accurately Comfortable working in a loud, active environment Able to work independently and as part of a team Willing to clean kennels, handle waste, and perform physically demanding tasks Previous kennel, veterinary, daycare, grooming, shelter, or animal-care experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person Physical Requirements This is an active position.
Applicants should be able to:
Stand and walk for extended periods Bend, kneel, squat, and reach throughout the shift Safely handle strong or excited dogs Lift and carry approximately 20-40 pounds when needed Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Perform repetitive cleaning and physical tasks What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is reliable, observant, efficient, and genuinely cares about animal welfare. This job is much more than playing with dogs. A large part of the position involves cleaning, monitoring animals, following detailed instructions, and keeping up with a busy daily schedule. Attention to detail is especially important because each dog may have different feeding instructions, medications, behavior notes, and care requirements. Schedule Pet care is required every day, so availability may include: Weekdays Weekends Early mornings Holidays Reliable attendance is extremely important in this position because the animals depend on our staff for their daily care. Pay:
From $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 40.0 per week
