Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Pet Groomer to join our team. We are an established boarding, daycare, grooming and training facility with a large client base. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and a strong background in pet care, ensuring that every pet receives the highest level of grooming and attention. As an Assistant Pet Groomer, you will play a vital role in maintaining the health and appearance of our furry clients while providing exceptional customer service to their owners. Responsibilities Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, clipping, and styling pets according to breed standards and client preferences. Assess the condition of pets' coats and skin, identifying any health issues that may require veterinary attention. Provide nail trimming, ear cleaning, and other hygiene services as needed. Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized and in good working condition. Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' grooming needs and any observed health concerns. Handle animals safely and compassionately, employing proper animal restraint techniques when necessary. Assist with other animal care tasks as needed, including kennel duties when required. Assist with other animal care tasks including farm animals as needed. Qualifications Previous experience as a groomer or bather required (1+ years) Completion of a certified grooming program preferred. Knowledge of various dog breeds and grooming techniques is essential. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manage large or difficult animals safely. Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with both pets and their owners. Certification as a Veterinary Technician or is a plus but not required. A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being is essential for success in this role.
