You will supervise a dedicated team, ensure the highest standards of animal handling and care, and promote a safe, compassionate environment for all animals. Your leadership will help foster a nurturing space where animals thrive and pet owners feel confident in our services. Duties Supervise daily animal care activities, including feeding, grooming, exercise, and enrichment to promote well-being. Oversee animal handling and restraint procedures to ensure safety for both animals and staff. Coordinate dog training sessions and assist with behavioral assessments to support individual animal needs. Support veterinary technicians and assistants with medical treatments, medication administration, and health monitoring. Manage kennel operations, including cleaning schedules, record keeping, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing pet owner inquiries, offering pet care advice, and scheduling appointments. Lead staff training on animal handling techniques, pet grooming, pet sitting procedures, and emergency response protocols. Qualifications Proven experience in animal handling, pet care, or kennel management with a strong understanding of animal restraint and safety procedures. Hands-on veterinary experience such as veterinary technician or assistant background is highly desirable. Knowledge of dog training techniques and behavioral management strategies. Experience working with various animals including dogs, cats, and equines is preferred. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when moving supplies or animals. Excellent communication skills coupled with a passion for providing compassionate pet care. Strong organizational skills with the ability to supervise staff effectively and maintain detailed records.
