Belle Isle Animal Hospital is located in the Chastain Park area near Sandy Springs and Buckhead. It's a wonderful neighborhood to work in with great clientele. Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our veterinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional animal care, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and assisting with pet handling and grooming. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with animals and contribute to their well-being in a professional setting. Prior veterinary or kennel experience is preferred (but not required), along with strong customer service skills and the ability to handle animals safely and effectively. Responsibilities Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and animal areas to ensure a hygienic environment. Feed, water, and monitor the health of animals in our care. Assist with pet bathing, brushing, and nail trims. Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques during examinations or treatments. Support veterinary staff with basic procedures. Observe animals for signs of illness or distress and report findings promptly. Maintain detailed records of animal care activities and behaviors. Heavy lifting of supplies or animals may be required; must adhere to safety protocols at all times. Holidays and weekends are required. Skills Experience in the veterinary field, pet kennels, pet grooming, or pet sitting is a plus. Veterinary technician or assistant experience highly desirable. Strong animal handling and restraint skills to ensure safety for both animals and staff. Knowledge of animal care best practices, including pet feeding, cleaning, and health monitoring. Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently. Compassionate attitude towards animals with a genuine interest in their well-being. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Pay:
$15.00 - $20.00 per hourBenefits:
