Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a part-time dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and possess the skills necessary to provide a safe and nurturing environment for pets. As a Kennel Technician, you will help clean kennels and dog yards, rotating and walking dogs, and helping with the care and feeding of dogs. You might also be asked to help in the cat and kitten room, cleaning, scooping and feeding cats and kittens. Duties Provide daily care for dogs Assist with cats and kittens, when necessary Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas to ensure a hygienic environment. Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to ops manager Handle animals safely and effectively, using proper techniques for restraint and transport. Assist in heavy lifting tasks related to animal care, such as moving supplies or larger animals Requirements Experience in animal handling or care is preferred; previous work in a kennel or veterinary setting is a plus. Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with colleagues and volunteers. Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed (up to 50 pounds). A compassionate attitude towards animals and a commitment to their well-being. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if necessary. Certification as a Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician is advantageous but not required. Experience in pet sitting or similar roles can be considered an asset.
