Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pet Groomer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and grooming, with the ability to handle pets safely and efficiently. This role involves providing high-quality grooming services while ensuring the comfort and safety of each animal. The Pet Groomer will work closely with pet owners to meet their grooming needs and maintain the health and well-being of animals in our care. Duties Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, brushing, and styling for various breeds of dogs and other pets Handle animals gently and securely using proper restraint techniques to ensure safety for both pets and staff Assess each pet's health and behavior, alerting management to any concerns such as skin issues or signs of distress Maintain a clean and sanitized grooming area, tools, and equipment in accordance with health standards Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about grooming preferences and aftercare instructions Assist with pet handling during appointments, ensuring animals are comfortable throughout the grooming process Support other team members with animal handling, kennel duties, or related tasks as needed Experience Prior experience in pet grooming is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate Dog training, veterinary experience, or veterinary technician background is a plus Experience working with animals such as horses or in kennel environments is beneficial Animal handling skills including dog handling, animal restraint, and pet care are highly valued Customer service experience is desirable to ensure positive interactions with clients Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary (e.g., lifting pets or equipment) Knowledge of pet care procedures and animal safety protocols is preferred We welcome applicants who are passionate about animal welfare and eager to develop their grooming skills in a professional environment. Schedule is flexible but must be able to work most Saturdays. Our Groomers typically work 7-8am until about 3-4pm, but it depends on your schedule and efficiency. Commission is set based on experience, salary varies based on how many dogs you can groom. We are a quality over quantity salon and quote 3-4 hours for our appointments.
